Stockholm’s Modern Museum of Art
My favorite part of my visit to Stockholm last fall was visiting the Modern Museum of Art. When we were there, there were a few outstanding temporary exhibits from the famous Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson (whose name I just now learned how to spell). He is one of the few lucky artists of our time who is experiencing fame while he is still alive, however he insists that he is a not a special person in this Guardian article.
What a true Dane, thinking he’s just the same as everyone else. If you’ve traveled to a larger Scandinavian city, you’ve probably seen his art around town without realizing it, especially in Denmark. I must have seen several works he had installed and thought, “Wow that thing over there looks cool, whatever it is.” Turns out Olafur Eliasson is the maker of all cool abstract things.
Stockholm, Sweden
November 2015 I took a weekend trip to Stockholm with one of my study abroad friends. It was probably my favorite weekend trip I ever went on!
